Contrary to what many new EV drivers think, connecting to a standard 120-volt outlet isn’t likely to support your driving lifestyle. While this charging method is possible, charging on a 120-volt outlet only equates to about up to 5 miles of range per hour of charging. With a Level 2 charger, one hour of charging equals about 30 miles of EV range. There are also fast charging stations, but these cannot be supported by the infrastructure of a conventional residential property.
